Sentiero degli Dei

AMALFI COAST: The sheer drop of the cliffs skirted by the Sentiero degli Dei (the famous, 12km 'Path of the Gods' along the Amalfi Coast; see below) can seem perilously near to the path at times - pericoloso! as the Italians would say - but then, it wouldn't be a real hike if the odd rock didn't slip out from under the feet to fall one kilometer into the sea, now would it?

True mountaineers would probably call this a liesurely stroll - and it certainly doesn't match the Routeburn track outside Queenstown, NZ for toughness - but it got us puffing all the same. As I said below, this probably had something to do with setting out on the hike at midday, during a week of mid-thirty temperatures.
