AMALFI COAST: Up early on our second day in Sorrento to commence our trek on the Sentiero degli Dei - the classic 'Path of the Gods' walking track along the Amalfi Coast, a 12-kilometer
hike up cliffs, down valleys and along ridges, all with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea stretching to the horizon.
That we decided to begin the walk just before midday during the hottest fortnight of the Italian summer probably didn't help - especially considering the hike begins in earnest from the first step leaving Positano - one of the gorgeous towns on the coast - a kilometer or so ascent, virtually straight up... We didn't stay long in Positano, but had a wonderful view of the picturesque coastal town from above.
